Barbera d'Alba Superiore
Controlled Designation of Origin
Why we do it
Barbera is the quintessential popular, convivial wine. After all, that’s how the Barbera grape variety is, generous in nature: each gem becomes a cluster. This is also why we love to transform the grapes we collect from Vigna Tifuran into a Barbera d’Alba Superiore DOC that maintains a generous roundness in the glass and smells of plum and small berries.
Where we do it
On the road that runs along Vigna Tifuran there are large and strong oaks. In the right season, under their foliage, you can find truffles, the most precious products of these areas, from which our vineyard takes its name. Here, outside Vezza, in the Castagnito territory, the land becomes richer and more compact. Even with a few drops of rain, the boots no longer come off the ground. A wealth that goes well with the lush Barbera grape variety.
How we do it
This generous vine, which thrives so well in Vigna Trifuran, makes us cheerful even when we struggle. And it’s precisely that abundance that motivates us to put that extra effort. For our Barbera d ‘Alba Superiore as fine as it is, we must thin out the grapes. We do this through techniques such as snapping and green pruning.
How to drink it
A succulent plate of meat is even more tasty when paired with a glass of red wine, and our Barbera d ‘Alba Superiore has the right balance to cleanse your mouth without overpowering the taste of the meat. Especially when age has given it fullness; if, on the other hand, the wine is young and retains a hint of acidity, you can enjoy it together with a nice cheese platter. Like the ones we like to offer you in the cellar. Come and try it.
